General Information
Scientific Program

The scientific programme of ICPIG covers nearly all aspects of phenomena in ionizad gases. It explores the fundamentals of all kind of plasmas, electrical discharges and their applications such as surface treatment, plasma semiconductor processing and thin film technology, plasma medicine, light sources, plasma assisted combustión, plasma material processing, atmospheric and stellar plasmas, environmental protection and pollution control, plasma aerodynamics as well as non-thermal plasmas in fusion devices.

In total ICPIG covers 17 different types of topics withing 4 different categories. A detailed list of the ICPIG scientific topics can be found in here.

The scientific programme will consist of 10 invited general lectures and 24 invited topical lectures together with talks from the winners of two awards traditionally given during each edition of ICPIG: The von Engel & Franklin Prize and the IUPAP Young Scientist Medal and Prize in Plasma Physics. In addition, the ICPIG – 2013 Student Poster Prizes will announced during the conference.

In addition, the ICPIG scientific programme is completed 4 poster sessions with 2 special sessions that in the 2013 ICPIG edition will be devoted to: Plasma Space Propulsion (special session 1) and Plasma Flow Control and Combustion (special session 2). Each special session will count with an introduction by the convenor of the session and 5/6 invited talks from worldwide leaders in the field. The convenors can select up to 2 regular contributed papers from the abstracts received that indicated their wish to be presented as short talks in the special sessions. The timetable already available shows the date, times and locations of the scientific sessions as well as the social events that will take place during ICPIG – 2013.

The conference will be conducted in accordance with the principles of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) regarding the free circulation of scientists for International purposes. In this regards, no scientist will be excluded from participation on the grounds of national origin, nationality or political considerations unrelated to science.

Contributiors of accepted GENERAL, TOPICAL and SPECIAL SESSION invited talks will be invited to submit a full paper for a regular issue of Plasma Sources Science and Technology (PSST). The full papers must be submitted before June 30th, 2013. Submitted papers will be subject to the usual peer review process.
